The Long Open RoadA Poem by TravieThis is a poem I wrote while driving on the highway.
I'm out here on this highway,
The blistering sun in my face, Windows down and music turned up, The only place I truly feel free. A long stretch of open road, Full of long lost memories, And all I see behind me, Is a town I am leaving behind. It's hard for me to say goodbye, To a place I've known for so long, My family and friends all know, That I cannot stay in one place any longer. As I drive in a straight line, Through this open country, I'm getting closer and closer To a place I call my new beginning.
