ResilianceA Poem by KaitA little toned down from my last one...It’s hard. It’s really hard, to look over at “our” bed, the same one we made love in last night, and see: her phantom imprint on the sheets, on your beastly skin. She knows your face, when it gets really good- it’s ALL vaporized on the crumbling walls of the sanctuary I built for us in my mind. Don’t touch me with those fingers and thumbs that tapped our relationship to dust; all your sweet words melting like icicles down my face. I know what I felt for you, but now we have to part. We had our moment in destiny but that’s all we were supposed to be. I’ll always love you for who I thought you were. © 2014 KaitReviews
