“You know, I probably wouldn’t even mind so much if you had just asked me for help every once in a while. But, f*****g no, you have to be in control of everything, EVERYTHING, just like the day we met. The ball has always been in your f*****g court and there’s nothing I can f*****g do about it, right? RIGHT?”  April said, breaking the silence weighing down the air between them at the dinner table.

“What do you want me to say?” Juliette said, knowing full well what her irate lover meant.

“Say you will let me help you. Don’t push me out. Don’t bring me into your life whenever you want and then get rid of me just as fast. It’s not fair and you know it.” Juliette looked at April with a concerned yet skeptical glare while slowly chewing the chicken stir fry that was now getting cold from the ice being thrown back and forth.

“How can I do that, April? Should I just tell your father that I’ve been sleeping with his daughter for the better part of 5 years? Should I explain to him that, Yea, I’ve killed people because I’m a f*****g Vamp and your daughter has helped dispose of the victims. Is that what you want?”

“Jesus f**k, Juliette… Do you really think that’s what I’m talking about?!”  She forcefully dropped her utensils, lurched the kitchen chair back making it screech on the tile floor and walked away toward the bedroom.

“OK.” Juliette said over her shoulder.

April violently turned around.

“OK, WHAT?” she bellowed back, waiting to hear the pain in Juliette’s voice as she admitted she need the one thing she was reluctant to receive; help.

“OK…..I need you.” Juliette dropped her head to muffle the last part.

“You need me to do what..?” April said in a direct but slightly more understanding tone.

“I need you to… I need your help. I’ve always needed your help.”

“And…” April raised her left eyebrow and took a few steps closer to Juliette.

“AND… I was wrong to use you the way I have. It’s not fair to you and I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry… I’ll let you bring me the people. I can’t do it on my own. You’re right. I’m so sorry I was so stubbor….”

April cupped Juliette’s face an let out a whimper as she kissed her hard. Their lips parted and Juliette’s tooth broke April’s skin by accident. Juliette’s hands found their way up around April’s shoulders, pulling them closer together, April’s leg slipped between Juliette’s as they feverishly sucked each other’s faces until once again April broke the moment:

“You better get on your knees and eat me, you gorgeous witch. Earn your red wings…”
