Lost LoveA Poem by TravyQuotesI love God but we've had these types of conversations.
Ever since I was a kid I've lost love,
Death was my best friend that kept giving hugs, I learned the hard way to not let anyone close, As a man my hard heart I would proudly boast, Now, I'm getting older and the cold takes it's toll, Every positive feeling I feel is me getting fooled, Jesus tried to catch me, but I fell through the holes, Hell bound is okay when you already walk on coals, I prayed to God to soften my heart, Send me a wife so I can love his art, I asked for an Eve and he gave me you, A perfect fit for my life that's been long overdue, I got too comfortable and I let you in, I could feel the devil over my shoulder with a devilish grin, I loved you but you married him, Now that I can't stop my love's a sin? You could stop with those words if you've had enough, When did God turn wedding rings into handcuffs? This has all been emotionally strenuous, I'd pray but I don't know if God is an ally or nemesis, Ever since I was a kid I've lost love, From the people here, her, the devil below, and God above. © 2016 TravyQuotesReviews
