A Chapter by Trash Fairy

Part One: Paradis

* * *

The ground shakes beneath

as horizons do break.

Sea meets the sky,

and earth simply quakes.

He controls this, but why?

Makes and creates...

endlessly scorching,

with these breaks, rapes, and shakes.

My eyes dart and wander

like a hummingbird lost.

Searching the sea,

the land and the frost.

I see only landscape-

devoid of all beings,

all fauna as well.

Alone so it seems,

In this realm that I dwell.

I continue to tremble,

then attempt a mute yell.

So, this place I inhabit...

I am residing in hell

A powerful lead for the story. The poem open the door to question and mystery. I like the closing line. Made me desire to read more. Thank you for a amazing poem.

Great poem. It's got this atmosphere to it and whilst I haven't read any more of your novel I could imagine this atmosphere would be appropriate to it.
