Her

Her

A Poem by Trapped
"

How I view my love.

"

Her hair,

Flowing,

Covering her face

Like a veil

Made straight from lava.

Her eyes,

Emeralds,

Lighting up

When I enter the room.

Her hands,

Soft,

Caring,

Protective,

Warm,

Kind.

Her nose,

Keen,

Speckled with freckles,

Racing to suck in air,

Same as mine,

When we both double over with laughter,

Tears in our eyes,

Together.

Her,

My everything

Is contained

In this one body,

Perfect in every way.

So when I look at her,

I see everything I would need in life,

In one soul,

In one strand of hair behind her ear,

In one pair of eyes,

Soft and quiet,

In one hand,

Holding mine,

In one nose,

Speckles with freckles,

In one human being,

The only one I love.

Her.

Works very well as a love poem. Nicely conveyed lines. I enjoyed the read and felt the warmth coming through.

Yes, this works well as a love poem, avoiding cliche and with some very nice metaphors, as in the first 2 stanzas. And the 'one strand of hair' --- fantastic image!
