Symbols

Symbols

A Poem by Tracie Skarbo

Symbols scar into palms

And run up the soles of feet

Tattoo’s to walk the pathway

With love and compassion

Mistakes are only sins

To fall out of

To rise from

To flower forth and emerge wiser

Without these would we

Sing with such bittersweet note

Paint with unimagined hue combination

Sculpt with such passion for the rightness within the stone?

Is this not the pull; the longing of spirit?

The ultimate experience of what it is to be human

Wanting, needing the god-like perfection

Yet falling short every time

Only to rise and begin again

Knowing that the same fate awaits

And repeating it anyway

For no other reason

Except something down in the core of your soul

Is whispering

That this is

What it feels like

To be dancing with

Divinity

We only gain wisdom though experience. No way around that... With wisdom comes the means to acknowledge symbolic signs of what is and what is to come. The rest is much like a burnt match... gone, yet it still has some use. Does not a forest floor become vibrantly green and renewed with life after the fires of death overtake the trees? Yes. Divinity is within our soul at all times. It's only when we burn down the faded barriers we construct do we access our wisdom within giving us the skill to read the symbols before us... providing us our nutrition to spiritually grow. Excellent piece of intriguing work.

Learning consists of daily accumulating. The practice of the Tao consists of daily diminishing; decreasing and decreasing, until doing nothing. When nothing is done, nothing is left undone. True.. more..
