Illustrious GoldA Poem by Tracie SkarboDark grey clouds surround me So dark they are almost black I walk within a field of Illustrious gold I watch the wind As it tries to grasp the wheat In swirling dancing circles So desperate to touch what is out of reach I hear its mournful cry Wailing for the lack of hands and fingers That would allow a simple touch A silken caress The wheat bends and sways With the unseen force The heads smiling and teasing Enjoying the clumsy embrace I close my eyes And open my ears Letting nature’s music fill me It permeates my heart and soul… © 2010 Tracie SkarboFeatured Review
