Forgiveness

Forgiveness

A Poem by Tracie Skarbo

Silence is the key to ones soul
Thought, the salve that can heal
Knowledge lies dormant,
Until forgiveness is sought…

We sit in silence , reading each other.
'After a long silence, we know.
Words would never have brought such
communion.
She stretches, like a lazy cat, purring.
After while she opens one eye and
smiles---message transmitted.

So much depth and very well written.

you've got that right...the trick is in knowing that forgiveness is not incident specific, but pervasive, and self-ordained...in other words, it's not a doing, but a becoming...
