Fires~Light

Fires~Light

A Poem by †Tracey†

Moses held the thunder in one hand and parted the sea
yet he has nothing on the Siren of the Seventh Seal
fists of fire parted the skies and impaled her through
her spine, splitting vertebrae as the fist
engulfed her heart
It was the hand of God and his fury
blasting her soul in recapture
And still she mocked him

Black eyes stared into the almighty’s grace
and yet not one would concede
Not one would relinquish the power
The hand, the hold
The black on white

Pulsating fire burned the meaty flesh
leaving behind a wicked stench
rotting the inhale of many days
the darkest of nights…
A fight between good and evil
Not the first day, nor the last

Words were cast in glories blaze and hells fire
While angels were born from the purest light
Yet the dark night of the soul
Lured in the innocents
A universal tug of war
Bipolar flares casting us all into the
Fear of it all

A fight for all to see, all to live and breathe
A struggle between good and evil in our own selves
An understanding of light and spirit
Forgiveness…
A passion for the life we have and a will stronger
Then the Sirens luring ways
Since the first day we have feared the last day
We have been witness to the battle
The fire, the reign…
Who wins?  Only you know~

I enjoyed the story in the poem. I like the comparison of Mose to the Siren. I wanted to read and know more. Myth and tale is my favorite.Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I see this poem as a statement on how society is quick to judge and persecute those that don't fit the mold they create… I say burn me at the stake cause I never want to fit in to their uptight ways.
