Chapter 8A Chapter by Vivere ad mihi, mi DeusChapter 3 At
six, I took a shower; the water ran down my body like a waterfall, washing away
the night before. Washing my hair, I ran my hands through my hair slowly taking
my time to relieve the tension. When I got out, I felt rejuvenated, and clean.
I dried my hair and started going through my clothes, it was already a quarter
till seven. I was still looking through my clothes when the doorbell rang. I
wrapped myself in a towel and ran down the steps, it was April and Jason. “Hey girl! You ready yet? We thought
we would come a little early… Oh.” I giggled self-consciously and hid
behind the door, “Still getting ready.” April flew through the door, grabbed my
wrist and ran up the stairs to my room. Closing the door behind us, she began
to scavenge through my closet until she found what she was looking for. She
threw a dress at me, it was a dark crimson red, and it was long and simple with
spaghetti straps and a low v-line. I did not even remember ever having the
dress, but I put it on anyway. It fit perfectly to my small frame,
flowing from my hips to end a half-inch past my feet onto the floor. I began to
wonder what April was thinking, “What kind of party is Jasmine having? This is
crazy.” April shrugged her shoulders as if it was nothing, then I looked at
what she was wearing. Her dress was the color of black onyx, it to was simple,
it had straps that fell off her shoulders and ended an inch before her knees.
“She said to dress up. You know she always likes to be formal about things.
Where did you get that dress from by the way? I like it.” “I don’t know. I’ve never seen it
before. Where was it?” “In your closet. Duh.” I rolled my
eyes, “Whatever. Okay. So, what shoes am I going to wear? I have nothing that
will go with this!” “Well than it’s a good thing I came
early now aint it? I got some heels that will go great with that. Come on. We
have to hurry up. You still need to do your hair. Ugh! We can do that at my
house to.” She grabbed my arm and dragged me down the steps barefoot. Jason
stood up and opened the door for us. I had to slip on a pair of flip-flops
before we went out the door and hold my dress up as we walked to the car.
“Where we goin?” “My house! Hurry, hurry. We have
things to do.” It surprisingly took only ten minutes
to get to April’s house and we had to quickly run to her room for the shoes and
to get a brush for my hair. It was still damp, I had only twenty minutes before
the party started. I was able to blow dry it for the most part, we quickly
headed out to the car and stopped at McDonalds on the way. I’m not big on fast
food, but I stuffed my double cheeseburger in my mouth anyway. ~~ Jasmine lives in a mansion that had
four stories, with twelve bedrooms. It was a very old house, but very well
kept. They had a half circle drive, already packed with cars. All the first
floor was lit up with different color lights; music was flowing through the
walls. There were still people falling through the door to get in. Everyone was
dressed up, not one guy not have on a nice suit, or something close to it.
Jason parked the car and we all got out together, weaving through cars to get
to the front door. The door was decorated with flowers, twining around the arch
of strings that where pinned to the frame of the door. The ceiling was far
above our heads, decorated with balloons, and beautiful chandeliers hung low. I
had only been to Jasmines house a few times, but I had never really paid
attention to how striking it was. I was in awe. Everyone around me was talking with
one another, about this or that. Jason and April where right behind me talking
about god-knows-what. Everything was so elegant, and colorful, girls where
talking with one another in small groups with most of the males eating or off
trying to do something else. I was a little in shock, I was getting nervous and
self-conscious tugging at my dress to make sure it looked right. It took awhile to get used to the
noise and all the people around me, but I found a spot near a hall, quietly
watching everyone else when a cup appeared in my view. I turned around. © 2012 Vivere ad mihi, mi Deus |
