Belong

Belong

A Poem by Vivere ad mihi, mi Deus

I don't think I belong anywhere
Hell, I don't belong at home
I don't belong in school,
I shouldn't be here now
It's not the place to be, when your me.
And it seems no matter how hard I try
I can not fit in,
A puzzle piece in a box of tools
A black crayon in the color pencils.
I am the hole that you can not stitch
I do not belong here.
So why should I stick around?
To hear the words,
Of ignorance continue.
Well it's never what I dreamed of,
A never ending taunt.
The sad tale of a useless life.
And even in the darkest days,
The darkest of nights
I continue to stick around
To live my life.
To go forward with my plans
For nothing will stop me from being
The person I can't help but be!

Hard to fit in when you are young. With age you can find people with same goals and dreams. I like the story and the positive ending. Sometime we must go forward and not have concern for the people who are negative. Thank you for the excellent poem.

We are but threads mending the holes in a tapestry.Everybody fits in,even if they fit in out of place. We call those people abstract beings.
The poem is heart churning.I want to find the place the writer belongs.everyone belongs somewhere.

Nice work! Learning to be who you are is one of the most difficult challenges we face in life, but it is also the most valuable.

I can completely relate to this. There is so much truth and intense emotions. Great job!

Sweet! Hold onto that independence--who you really are is who you're meant to be.

Brilliant!!! If only we all had the courage to do as you do and stick around. I love the way you worded this. Plain and simple, but so powerful. Beautiful!!!
