Secret of an Eagle

Secret of an Eagle

A Poem by Treylee
"

Its amazing what you can learn from listening to nature.

"

Look up and see the eagle soaring high

As he screeches to all of us below.

He’s sharing his secret on how to fly.

To our ear we just hear screeching, but why?

What do we see looking out our window,

Do we see the eagle in flight up high?

Maybe we're all just to blind to deny,

To ignorant to see natures true flow.

Oh how I wish we too could learn to fly.

We're wrecking our earth, her skies running dry

All simply because we can't just say no.

Perhaps if we said yes, we could soar high.

That’d be great, to glide like a magpie,

To see the earth from above, the grass the snow,

To learn from the eagle on how to fly.

I look around me with a heavy sigh,

Maybe if we paid attention we’d know.

Look up and see the eagle soaring high,

He’s sharing his secret on how to fly.

I liked the theme behind this write.

I couldn't stop but write couple of lines :)

As humans,
we fear to try,
we fear to question why
and forget to see
who we truly are.

If just let ourselves,
learn from the things around us
and give ourselves that little chance,
who knows,
we may free-fly
and soar high
like the eagles up in the sky.

Thanks for sharing!

I enjoyed reading this but thought I might mention the apostrophe (boring I know, but important to meaning and sense) were is a word (they were at home) and we're is a contraction of two words (we are) Similarly, cant means insincere rambling but can't is an abbreviation of cannot.
