The MountainA Poem by TreyleeInspired by the mountains in wyoming where I was raised.
I am strong, enormously so.
And my color, a strong solid blue. Until the white comes. How could something so transparent, so seemingly harmless transform that strength into nothing. It comes swirling high and low, all around me. It engulfs me. Consumes me. Until I become a part of it. It casts it's bright coldness down into all my creases and caverns until I am completely unrecognizable. When it finally releases its grasp and creeps away, you can see the frozen mark it's left on me. I am weak, parts of me falling into the deep. And my color, white. Though I am crumbling under this new look, my backbone stays strong. Because soon the warm color of yellow and green will come, and once again, I will be blue. © 2016 TreyleeFeatured Review
