The Flame

We all have a fire inside us that burns brighter than ever. Don't be afraid to let that flame out every once in a while.

It burns and flickers

In the very depths of her soul

The visions of far away places

The craving for new land

On the outside you may never see it

She hides her fire well

For you may see a smile

But inside is an ache

A pain, a want, a need

To let that fire blaze away

And burst through her seams

For now though, she’ll put on her mask

She gets just enough relief

Soon enough, she tells herself

The flame will be set free.
