Self Destructive Siblings

Self Destructive Siblings

A Poem by Toxic89
"

A letter to my brother; bad habits and being thrown into adulthood.

"
Brother:

We really need to stop this s**t.
Out of no where we're adults
and can't afford these slips.

How would they feel,
when they're old enough to know,
that while mommy was near labor,
daddy was convulsing on the floor?

Or what would they think, of the best Auntie ever,
when just months before their birth,
she got in her car and changed her life forever?

Self destructive siblings,
it makes our loved ones tear.
I't's time for us both to straighten up,
we can't let family live in fear.

The boys are lucky neither Daddy or Auntie died,
Everything from that O.D. to both of our DUI's.
I'm sorry, boys. You're almost here.
I promise, for you, we will steer clear.

Such true words. and I like how straight forward it is.

I really enjoy your poems and they speak to me cause I know their real by the way you write. It's crazy how sometimes when your reading something you can feel the anger and the rage as if it were me/you. It's really good :)
