Mountain Bird

Mountain Bird

A Poem by Rick r

In the folds of the hills
and hollows
of my mind,
I remember a time
when you were free.
You were of the sweetest color
known to me.

No man could catch you;
I'm not even sure we tried.
It was such a sight
just to watch you
spread your wings.

Like a bird
you could fly
circles so high,
blue as the sky,
and free as the wind.

I knew someday
you would leave,
fly away,
no longer free;
my mountain bird
on a breeze.

to fly is a beautiful feeling, birds are admire by its grace of flight and beauty... they are wonderful creatures, they inspire us to be free on our own right and choices, like how they live to fly the hights of their being...

its a wonderful piece, sir R, as always..........

I like where this well scribed piece took me. Sometimes you just, know, when something is too free too beautiful to belong to anything; especially, to another dreamer.

Thanks, Diego. True, your words. Have to wonder if she is free today.
Admirably tight in both construction and metaphor, with no waste or unnecessary digressions at all. First-rate piece of work.
