Chapter 2
When I was five, Lucy crept through the back door when my father was asleep. She had a big bulge in her navy raincoat. After she quietly passed my Dad asleep at the dining table, she ran lightly up the stairs. I followed her into her bedroom and as she sat down on her rocking chair, a tiny wet dog head popped out the zip of her coat. It had a small head, a fat squashed nose that looked like it had ran into a wall and these big corgi type ears.

"Please don't tell Dad" Lucy begged.
"What is that? Dad is going to be extremely mad when he finds out."
"I know but he won't find out. Will he Em?" She glared at me with her deep green eyes as I shook my head in agreement
" I found her near the border line. It was chucking it down! She was shaking and crying. I just couldn't bring myself to leaving her there."
I pass her a towel from the cupboard. she gently lifts out the small animal from her coat. It is all black and has one  white leg. I think it is a dog?
"So what are you going to do with her then?" I whisper.
"I'm not sure, maybe just keep her here for a few days until the storm clears. Then afterward find her a new home"

We never did find her a new home, my father eventually found her in my sisters room when she was working.
he fell in love with her straight away. We just came home and the dog was just lying in front of the fireplace and my father was on the armchair reading the newspaper. Me and Lucy just froze at the front door, my father just smiled and asked us why he didn't tell us. My sister explained the whole story and everything was normal. We named her Cinder.

When I got home I put my sketch book under by bed and put Cinder on her lead for a walk on the back fields. I let Cinder of her lead so she can have a run. Sometimes it is hard to find her in the long grass, she usually comes back on command. But this time she slips through a gap in between the wooden panels of the stables.

I have to walk round to get to the stables. I feel my heart thumping a little at my chest as this is Mr Groomsten's stables. He's been known to not hesitate to hit someone who trespasses. I will just have to be quick. I see Cinder playing in the hay piles in the corner of the stables. I run quickly and scoop her out.
"Emerson!"
I turn around and see the most prettiest girl in the whole town. Eboni Groomsten. Mr Groomsten's oldest daughter.
