A Poem by Tora
"

Simply titled as the date it was written

"

She wanted to scream of her loss

and the pain that tore at her limbs

And she, in her grief, howled with the wind

For the tears on her lashes not dried were the mourning of Him

Yet no death took part

It was only the mark

that He left on her heart

As He spoke from the start

of His love for her

Of the strength that He’d lend

For her battles had left her alone on the mend

So she thought He’d been sent

to care for her

He spoke to her more

of the life that they’d share, and how He adored

her laugh, oh her voice, and all that was her…

But what for?

The moment the feeling of safety embraced her,

His words changed direction

And like an infection

It spread

So he turned tail and fled

And no words left

but those of His lies she replays in her head

But he said…

that he loved her

Just pretty words spoken all dressed and adorned

Devoid of all substance, and once more she’s been scorned

So naive in the love she had formed

for a stranger, just a boy at the most

Embracing His misery, content in His pain

He was gone

So she, just a girl

once before full of fancy and whims

was left broken

Feeling as lost as she’s every been

For she’d never known such misery

as to be loved by him
