Chapter 2: The minds of my teachers...

"So you are telling me you won't read her mind?"

       "No.I.Won't"

"Come on man, help me out here. I need to know if I should ask her out."

"Then you're gonna have to figure out how to do it by yourself"

I had had this argument with Henry before. I ever since I told him about my "powers" back in 7th grade. When I first told him he didn't believe so he tested me out. He'd ask me what he was thinking and I would tell him. That wasn't good enough for him though, he insisted that I already knew everything about him. So we "tested" it on someone else. Henry had this girl that he thought was so so sexy. Indeed she was, she look like Mila Kunis to me. So he wanted to know if he could get with her. I read her mind...

It ended up that she did like him. They went out. Then he broke up with her a short time later. He said she was crazy. Boy! If he only knew, she had a lot of messed up thoughts.

So that's pretty much how I told him. After that, he started asking me every time he wanted a girl. I told him no 90% of the time. He hated it. He asked me why I didn't use it for my personal gain. I simply replied, "Cause I'm not an a*s."

I am in 10th grade now. High school is pretty much going as it is suppose to go. Most of my friends from middle school are here. Henry, Joclyn, and Emily. Jessica goes to a high on the other end of town. I guess I miss her, not like Henry though. He has no one else to argue with. Emily has found some new friends so I barely see her anymore too.

When I get to school, I travel straight to my locker. I picked up my schedule and examined it. I still haven't memorized it yet, and it's already been three weeks since school has started. It wasn't my fault though, I had a lot of stuff on my mind(;-)). I had math first. I knew that. I closed my locker and started walking to my class. I bump into some and turn around to see my math teacher. Some of her papers have fallen to the ground. I bend down to pick them just as she does. We bump heads.

       "Ouch!" She thought.

"Oh man! I mean ma'am.I'm sor...I'm so sorry Ms. Davis... I didn't mean it" I replied quickly.

"It's OK David. I just wasn't paying attention to where I was going." She finishes resorting her paper and says "I hope you finished those Chapter I assignments yesterday" She gives me the "If you don't you'll be sorry look" and it works. Especially since she the only one who have that effect on me.

"It's all finished Ms. Davis"I reassured her.

She gives me the look again and walks away. I watch her till she turns the corner. Henry walks up behind me.

"Damn, that woman is sexy!" He blurts.

       "Henry!"

       "What?!"

"Come on man, that's my math teacher!"

"I wish she was my math teacher...," He replies, "I'd be her naughty student."

The images I was seeing from Henry's mind were horrifying so I turn and go to class.

Only good thing about going to geometry class now was turning in my homework to Ms. Davis and Joclyn was in there. I have to say I've come a long way from just staring at her from afar. She was actually in our group now. She didn't take over Jessica spot says Henry but we all know she did. As much as I want it to, I didn't have anything to do with it. It was Emily. In 9th grade, Joclyn got into this huge argument with her friends about how fake she was and blah blah blah... Anyways Emily ended up being nice to her, even though Joclyn didn't even know she existed. Long story short, She started hang out with us annnnnd she is amazing.

As I walk into the room, I look for Joclyn. I see her on the other side if the room talking to Emily. I have to say Emily looks a lot cute than she used to. I walk over.

Joclyn doesn't even look up. "Hey David,"

       "Hey Joclyn. Hey Emily,"

Emily looks up. Smiles. Blushes. "Hey David,"

"Hey Emily," I turned to Joclyn, " Did you do the homework?"

Joclyn looks up at me with wide eyes. "Oh my God! I forgot!,"

Hmm. "It's OK. You can copy mine real quick." I said happily.

Joclyn rolled her eyes. "David. I got it." She hold up her homework.

"Sigh. Real smooth Joclyn," I thought

       "David...,"

I look around the classroom. I know I heard it in my head. So I assumed someone was looking at me or gossiping. It happens a lot. Someone will be thinking about me and usually I can figure out who it is, but this voice...

"Who is this?" I thought. It was racking my brain. I've heard that voice for the last two years. All the person ever says is my name and then I don't hear them again till later.

I decided to forget it for now, and I turn back around. Emily is looking at me with a puzzled look on her face.

       "You OK?" She asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine, I thought I heard someone call my name," I assured her.

The bell rings which mean 1st period is about to start. Ms. Davis gets up from her desk, and walks over to her board. What Henry said about Ms. Davis was true. She was a stunning woman. So stunning in fact I often wondered why she was a teacher and not a model or actress or something, Not that she could act. She was actually pretty corny and weird. I don't think anyone knew much about her. She came to work, keep the teacher act all day, and went home. She ate lunch by herself despite the male staff trying to ask her to lunch. She a random, unknown woman. I even went as far as to read her mind. All I got out of it was how much work we have to do this year. Bummer.

"Everyone, please take out your homework I assigned to you yesterday and pass it to the front," Ms. Davis said. There were a few groans and gasps from the people who either forgot it or didn't do it.

"Ms. Davis," one of the students called out, " I have a question."

She walked over to his desk. I saw as an opportunity.

       "Hey Emily. Joclyn," I whispered.

       They both turn around.

       "Yeah?"

"What do you know about Ms. Davis?"

Joclyn started to speak but stopped when she thoguht about the question. Emily just sat there staring off into space. Emily spoke first.

"Besides her loving lime green, nothing really."

       Joclyn replied,"Well," She paused,"Hmmmm..."

       "That's what I thought," I said, "I don't think anybody knows."

Joclyn look as if she had an idea. I was about to enter her mind when she call the Ms. Davis.

       "Ms. Davis," Joclyn said.

       "Yes Joclyn?" Ms. Davis answered.

       "Who are you?" Joclyn asked.

       I almost laughed out loud,

"Really Joclyn?" I thought, "Whatever, come on Ms. Davis give me something."

I enter her mind immediately. She was think about her being a teacher. There was also some stuff about her being at home, She brought up moment of being at home comfortable. Her reading on her couch drinking hot tea. She loves to watch The Walking Dead TV show. She also enjoy cooking. OH WOW! If Henry could see this. I was watching thoughts of her deciding what lingerie she wanted to wear. Damn! That woman was gorgeous. I prefer the red on her. I don't think I'd ever look at Ms.Davis the same again. I'd have to apologize to Henry later. He was right. I concentrated back on her thought. There were little things like shopping, going to the book store and stuff like that. The only other exciting thing was her imaging herself taking hot showers. Whew!

"Alright." I thought. I was done dipping into her thoughts. I had seen enough of her life for one day. I just wish there was some way I could show those images to Henry. My head started pulsing.

"Ouch!" I expressed in my head. I begin to back my way out out of Ms.Davis's mind when I saw something. Something out of the ordinary. It was a image of her with.....a gun?? She was holding like she'd been holding it for years. I had decided to go a little deeper into this thought when it just disappeared. I back all the way out of her mind.

I sat there puzzled. Ms.Davis was still talking to Joclyn about stuff she liked. Some of it was true, but I was still confused about what I just saw. I don't think it bothered me that she had it but it was the way she was holding and the look on her face when she had it. I'd never seen that face before.

Joclyn look at me and mouthed,"She boring".

I smile. If she only knew.

"It seems our math is a lot less boring than we think."
