![]() Chapter 1: I can do what?!A Chapter by Christopher BooyakashaChapter 1: I can do what?! I was freshly turning thirteen and
it was almost winter break. Everyone was acting crazy like it was the last week
before the world blew up or something. As I walked up the steps to my school
thinking of what I was gonna get my mom and dad for christmas, I see my best
friend Henry talking to a couple of girls that I knew from my math class. One
of them grabs Henry's hand and starts to walk toward me. "uh oh," I thought. Jessica Garcia..hmm.. She was
short, about 5'3" and slim. She was very attractive with her beautifully
tanned skin, extremely soft brown hair, and hazel eyes. Whew! She was
something. Why wasn't she my girlfriend if I digged her so much? Ha ha. You're
about to find out. "David," She called to
me. "Yep," I replied. "Can you please tell Henry that if he doesn't take these semester tests seriously," She looks at Henry. "He'll be in the 7th grade again next year?" "Henry," I look at him with a smirk on my face. "If you don't take those damn semest-," I paused. I paused because I'd seen the most beautiful being in the whole world. Joclyn Brown! Forget what I said about Jessica. She paled in comparison to Joclyn. She was around 5'7" or 5'8" with tan skin. She wasn't as tan as Jessica but her skin color was perfect for her. She had long dark brown hair that ran past her shoulders. She was built like a model. Nice a*s. Nice tits. I just wanted to- "Hey David!" Henry shouted in my ear. It made me jump so hard I nearly pissed myself. He looked at me with a smirk on his face. "Come back to me, bro." "I'm standing right here in front of you," I replied quickly. "Yeah but you head is over there," He points in Joclyn's direction, smiles, and says "Both heads." I try to push him but he just dodges my arms and laughs at me. Ugh, I hate that guy sometimes, but I know I can't stay mad at him though. Hell, I've known him my whole life. Literally. My mom and his mom gave birth to us at the same time in the same room. After that, his mom and my mom became good friends. So naturally we were around each other a lot. Not gonna lie though, I hated him when I was younger. He was a evil little a*****e. He got better the older we got so now he's cool. Henry looked like a lot of guys wish they'd look. He was about 5'11" with fairly good skin. He was really really dark brown hair that looks black from far away. He was well built. Muscle from head to toe. Anyways enough of him, I was ready to go to class. I went to my locker and got the stuff I needed for first period. I told Henry I'd see him later and went on to class. Science. Great. I hated science. "Well let's get this over with," I said to myself. The day went by pretty fast. It was probably cause everyone was hyped for winter break. At lunch I almost ran into Joclyn (not gonna lie, I kinda wanted to) and sat where I always sat. Henry and Jessica were at it again. "Those two should get a room." I thought. "Hey...um.. David?" Sarah asked. "Yeah Sarah? I answered. "How was your day?"Sarah asked gently. "It was okay. Kinda boring. You?" She blushed. "My day was and is going great." "That's awesome" She giggled a little. Man, when I say that girl was weird, she was weird! She was quiet and pretty timid. I think she only reason hung out with us cause Jessica and Henry befriend her last year. They were arguing about something(of course), and they ask her what she thought. Unfortunately Jessica won the debate and started hanging out with Sarah. When she met me she acted like I was some superstar. Her face lit up and I think I even saw a smile. I usually ignore her. Not because she isn't cute. Sarah was about 5'1" and thin with jet black hair and sapphire blue eyes. Cute face. Nice figure. She remind me of a miniature version of Megan Fox. But... she was weird. The rest of the day played out like it usually does. Slow paced and boring. When the final bell rang I hurried to my locker, threw my books in, grabbed my backpack, and nearly sprinted to the bus. I waved to Henry as he got on the bus. I hoped on the bus and sat in the first seat. I was ready to go home. As I walked down the street to my house I wondered what we were having for dinner. I hoped it was pizza. My mom had probably concocted something together though. I walked to the door to unlock it when I heard shouting on the other side. It sounded like the rents were arguing again. I unlocked the door and walked in. Luckily, they weren't in the living room, but I could hear them from their bedroom. "D****t!" I thought. "I hate when they argue like that." I went into the kitchen to see if there was something to eat. There wasn't. That meant they had been arguing for a while now. I was looking in the fridge for something to eat when mom walked in the living room. She didn't see me at first. She had her back to me. I waited till she turned around. "Oh hey honey. How was your day?" She asked. "It was boring and quiet," I eyed her. She looked toward the bedroom and then back at me. "I need to talk to you sweetheart" I eyed her again. "What's wrong?" She signaled for me to come over to the couch where she was now sitting. I walked sluggishly over. I could hear shuffling in the bedroom. I sat on the couch next to mom and puch under her arm. She wrapped her arm around me. "David, you know that I love you right?" Uh oh. This was already going bad. I could tell this wasn't going to be good cause she called me "David" instead of "sweety" or "honey". "Yeah mom. I know that." "And your father loves you too." "Yeah.." "Well your dad and I have been disgreeing a lot lately as you've probably noticed. So we deicided to kinda.... kinda be away from.. each other for a little while.." She was starting to choke up. Not gonna lie. I was too. "But why mom? Can't you guys just work it out?" "Well that's kinda.. what... we're doing. Just separately." I guess they didn't think I was smart enough to understand what was going on. "So you are getting a divorce?" I was starting to get a headache. I had this super weird feeling, like something was digging into my head. "No.... We are just taking a break." She repiled. Anger arose in me in an instant. "WHY DO HAVE TO DO THIS?! THIS IS STUPID! I HATE YOU! I HATE DAD! BOTH OF YOU SHOULD GO AWAY! I ran out of the room, out of the house. I ran and ran and ran. Eventually I got to the park where Henry and me used to play all the time. I ran inside the tunnel and laid there and cried. It seem like a eternity before I finally stopped crying. Then I crawled out of the tunnel and started to walk home. When I got to the house it was quiet on the inside. I was turning the knob when I heard voices speaking quietly. I peeked through our kitchen window to see who was talking. I saw my mom still sitting on couch. I could hear her clearly now. "I'm so sorry Henry. I didn't want it to be this way." I started to reply when I realized that she raised her head. She still didn't see me. "We will find a way to make it sweety" My eyes got huge as it dawned on me. Her mouth was closed! I shook my head and walk around to the door and went in. I still didn't believe what I had saw(young naive me. man! I was an idiot!). As I walk in, mom looked up, saw me, and smiled. She got up and walked over to me. "Oh I love you honey, and I'm glad you came back. Everything is gonna be alright." It happened again. "Maybe I'm just tired and hungry." I thought. I hugged my mom and then my dad walked out of the room. Man! It got so tense in there, it was getting hard to breathe. My dad had some luggage with him. He looked at my mom then walked over to me. "Hey son, you....wantta help me with some... of my stuff. "Sure dad." I grabbed some of his stuff and help him to his car. We packed all the stuff without saying a word. Once everything was loaded he walk over to me and put a hand on my shoulder. "Son, it gonna be okay." he said. Same thing mom said. "yeah.... I know dad." I mumbled. With that, he got into the car and drove away. I could hear mom sobbing from the door, and that's when I heard it. "Son. I promise you that I will be back. I'm gonna make things right with your mother, and things will go back to normal." There was no way! I heard his voice but he had already turned the corner and left. So that means.... "I can hear his thoughts..." I said quietly. I stood there in the drive way for a minute. Mom called me to come in. I started to walk back to the door as I thought about what had just occured. I stopped at the door and look down the street. "Holy s**t! I can read minds!!
