Ups and DownsA Poem by Tory StellerWorking on this day after day was the remedy to my depression, and though it kinda suffers for it, I'm glad I finally got it out.
It all falls into place
Like a hand-winning ace Or a lover’s embrace Or the stars formed in space It’s amazing to take all that fate has to give And shape it to make a great life to live Pave your own pace with dedication and skill Create a place based on your purpose and will And just when you think all is right, and you’re fit to lead Some unexpected mess derails your drive to succeed Because it all falls apart It was doomed from the start Just a ruse of the heart Avoid the curse if you’re smart Burdens seem to build and build until all hope is buried Burning dreams and self esteem, the hardships have you harried Too many hindrances to count, they just suppress your soul Dragging down ambition until you hardly see your goals But touch that bottom rock with a chin too hard to lift You’ll see around your feet surrounds a very special gift And then it all comes together Like the words born by letters Or the birds soaring feathers Or the storm-forming weather Whatever you may lose or break can still be found or fixed Nothing life might throw at you can take away your uniqueness Once you’re up and start to sink, don’t stop until you rise again Know down is not the end, refuse failure and you’re bound to win © 2013 Tory StellerAuthor's Note
