You and IA Poem by Pen_&_PaperA poem about sad friendships and how some people will always stay in one place.
When we are old and years have set upon us,
There will come a time when the wind stills and time stops. You will grow and blossom, petals flying where the wind blows, I will be here, always here. The rain will still fall, The clouds will still float, and Trees will still stand, for you, You will have gone places I never could, and far beyond. I will be here, always here. You will grow and change and move on, Go wherever the rain and clouds and sun will take your soul, I will be here, always here. My friend you are better than I, You are sturdy like the oak and soft like a reed. You are bright like the sun and mysterious like the moon. You are brave like the lion and humble like the bear. My friend, you are better than I will ever be. When we are old and years have set upon us, When our time beneath the rains and sun is through, You shall be far beyond where I can reach, where I can dream. I will be here, always here. The rain turns to snow, The clouds to blue, and Trees tumble, You shall have grown and flown high above all the misery. I will be here, always here. You have changed and shaped yourself, Gone wherever your soul wished to fly, following rain, clouds, and sun. I have been here, always here. © 2014 Pen_&_PaperAuthor's Note
