Alicia's Keys

Alicia's Keys

A Poem by Antoñyo

On an old and dusty keyboard

she plays a song anew

A sweet melody from the past

now played for you

With words that slowly rise

in a distant place

and another look of love

now upon her face

She’s an angel in your eyes

you will come to learn

Each day a tour with miracles

at each and every turn

The fall is hard and fast

while as slow as dreams

because love at its very best

is rarely as it seems

When your feet touch ground

your heart has disappeared,

the days are as dark as nights

and your soul is seared

But the tune is now forever

a part of who you’ve become

could you ever love again, you ask

How can you when you feel so numb?”

And the lyrics just aren’t the same

with no melodic lead

but the keys were made of glass

Hearts played shatter, tend to bleed
