Ode To The Difference In YouA Poem by AntoñyoSome of you were simply made * 'better than that' *I
might need to be more like you to
be myself, to myself be true
To
splash rain puddles like the exploring child blasting
life’s music as teenagers wild
Take
on those sharp curves at the craziest speeds
sacrifice
all the care for the care-free needs
Sing
loud atop stages where adored by all depending
only upon you to be there when I fall
I
should tell all your faults despite how they’d feel believe
God gave us a conscience to test our free will
But
the truth is quite sad and dull, I’m afraid
I
cannot be like you, not how I was made
I
don’t want a soul to feel so alone and
prefer showing light to the darkness I’ve known
It
pains me to be reasons a heart cracks or
the cause of such leakage of spirit it lacks
and
I choose that my heart hold a place just for one share
the rest with all the needy under the sun
Because
life is a gift and love is a choice and
more beautiful songs are sung with soft voice
So
I’ll live within my caution and rules that
someone broken may see me with tools
And
if I give thought to memory’s cast
I’ll
think of you fondly in memories past
