That Purple Man

That Purple Man

A Poem by Antoñyo

Another 5-minute piece... inspired by someone I practically grew up listening to

That Purple Man

Another star falls from worldly skies

Another thousand twinkle with all their might

Another annual million tries

Did they learn anything from history

Did any of us tell their stories to the young

Did this descent touch you, reveal a mystery

Why do so many seem to die too soon

Why don’t we care like we do their music

Why is the question irrelevant in time

I can’t help but ask another, again and again

I have parallels to remind me this time, so close

I have this time, memories, age, month, date

this insatiable need to create…

myself and that purple man
