Fly Blackbird, Fly

Fly Blackbird, Fly

A Poem by Antoñyo
"

Just a little something for the ones that fail to see their hidden beauty

"

Fly blackbird

don't be afraid

your wings aren't broken

you're just in pain

from the wounds

of your surroundings

and shattered mirrors

when on cold nights

of heartless wonder

you came home crying

and it seemed

there was no tomorrow

You didn't see far

for their blinding glitter

when all their shining

casts false shadows

It was not sunshine

just all the spotlights

they can't live without

and let it be known

that past the dimming

when warehouse beauty

fades into twilights

you will outshine

what you fear most now

So fly blackbird, fly

don't be afraid

your wings aren't broken

you're just in pain,

today

Another motivating poem from you, A. I am glad you featured this one.

"Spread your wings and fly high" is a common phrase or line when we motivate someone to move on and reach his dreams. But here, the color of the bird is emphasized. Having a dark color can bring someone some insecurities. When he experience discrimination because of it, it is very difficult to regain self-worth and confidence.

"don't be afraid
your wings aren't broken
you're just in pain,
today"

I commend you for these lines. Those people who are battling with their own insecurities need to realize their worth. Yes, their wings aren't broken, and they just need the wound to heal. They just need to regain their strength and learn to fly again.

Bravo for this excellent piece, A!

It was awhile back, I figured that. Glad you enjoyed it,

There is always hope for the blackbird to fly again with wings spread more fully, and flying into the sunlight of life! Great encouraging words for those who struggle with low self esteem! Thank you for caring enough to write of it!!
The photo is nice too!......beautiful tattoo!

Thanks so much for your time reading and the review.
Your beautiful poem reminds me of a line in a song I recently heard. "You are bent not broken". I love the spirit behind your writing. It shows that even though life can bring us pain, it does not have to last.

I like it. Words of encouragement but also words that say stop feeling sorry for yourself and move on. Better things will come if you let them. Very nicely written. Thank you!
