Mommas Gonna Be Out Fighting

Mommas Gonna Be Out Fighting

A Poem by Tonya_Fox
"

I spent a lot of years in the Military. And doing what I did for a living and being a mother was hard. I write from personal experience a form of therapy. But this one was for those that do not or have not recognized that there are not only fathers and so

"

She wakes up this morning'
And realizes
Today's the day
The day when she says goodbye
And tells her babies she can't stay

The last time she was home
Her little one was crawling around
Know he's standing two feet off the ground

She cant believe how big there getting'
And how much time she's been missin'
It hurts her more than anything

But she's gotta go
Gotta go

(Chorus)
Mommas gonna be out fightin'
For what some of us have forgotten
For the freedom of  rain
The choices we proclaim
The lives we live everyday
She is gonna be out fightin
Fightin
Mommas gonna be fightin

As she stood out there in the desert sand
In that far away land

She wondered why anyone would come to her door
And want a fight

Knowing right is right and wrong is wrong
No matter what you believe in
A home is still a home

But she has a job to do
For this land, for me and you
She's gonna be out fightin'

(CHORUS)
Mommas gonna be out fightin'
For what some of us have forgotten
For the freedom of  rain
The choices we proclaim
The lives we live everyday
She is gonna be out fightin
Fightin
Mommas gonna be fightin
