Ilk and Beauty
A Poem by Tony Rivera
I wrote this a bit ago as well from when my hope in life was reinstilled, and please note that right now i am in a big rut in my writing and in life, and since i refuse to write anything depressing it will be a while before i put up anything new
When the ilk
of life
smothers your heart
with a cloud of sorrow
hold fast
to the beauty of life
the hope
and the dreams you keep near and dear
never give in
to the temptation
the incubus and the succubus
that is death
for true eternal peace, love and joy
shall only find you
somewhere among
the violent sea, life
and should you
find yourself
battered and bound to a corner
break away and face whatever it is
that holds you, with a stubborn heart.

That's really a great poem. I love the wording and the meaning. Very inspirational.
