God takes selfies too

God takes selfies too

A Poem by Tony Jordan
"

inspired by a lightning flash

"
God
takes selfies too
you know
with flash enabled
and
in between each
take
we will count
100
200
300
...

Author's Note

Tony Jordan
The countdown refers to a local Irish custom of counting between flash of lightning and rumble of thunder. Counting is done each time a flash occurs. If the count is longer than the previous count then the storm is said to be moving away from the 'counter'.

love the theme ..language and simplicity .. what is it that Jesus/God said? we must be as children to enter heaven? ... i think it is not probably a conscous thing but that you start with the mention of the biggest possible imaginable and the form of your poem drops to a very small "..." which i can easily interpret as a path to the very same thing .. that this came to you in a flash ;) is very cool ... how far away was that storm my friend?

nice. when i was young, we would say that thunder was him bowling to keep from being scared.

yes - after you see a flash of lightning, count the number of seconds until you hear the thunder. For every 5 seconds the storm is one mile away. this is cute. :)
