God takes selfies too

God takes selfies too

A Poem by Tony Jordan
"

inspired by a lightning flash

"
God
takes selfies too
you know
with flash enabled
and
in between each
take
we will count
100
200
300
...

Author's Note

Tony Jordan
The countdown refers to a local Irish custom of counting between flash of lightning and rumble of thunder. Counting is done each time a flash occurs. If the count is longer than the previous count then the storm is said to be moving away from the 'counter'.

love the theme ..language and simplicity .. what is it that Jesus/God said? we must be as children to enter heaven? ... i think it is not probably a conscous thing but that you start with the mention of the biggest possible imaginable and the form of your poem drops to a very small "..." which i can easily interpret as a path to the very same thing .. that this came to you in a flash ;) is very cool ... how far away was that storm my friend?

Hello again,

This one is quite descriptive quite factual when it comes to estimating the miles of a thunderclap...

Well done, you.

Wow, what creativity you have presented through these few words ~ for I was able to actually picture a lightening flash, then anxiousily waited for the roar of thunder as I joined in on the countdown.

Well done Tony!

Blessings, 🙏

PS: Here in the USA our countdown is ~ 1001, 1002 before we hear the thunder, but I guess its all relevent.

You know, Tony, this poem is beyond my understanding. For a start, I don't know what 'selfies' are. What is the relevance of the 'count up' at the end.? I am probably being a complete ignoramus, but , if you have time, I would love you o explain your poem to me.

There's no doubt that he's got the biggest flash of anyone. Probably the biggest camera, too. I like this entertaining notion.

Yeah but does he use the infinity selfie stick? Because they are banned in some parts of Italy.
And what exposure would he use?
These are questions that need answering.

But then, who's gonna tell The Big Guy to keep it down?
