What now?

What now?

A Poem by Tony Jordan
"

Just a poem about a long time wayy back in the future ago...

"
I offered you my hand in peace
And you cut it off
broiled it - fed it to that thing...

What of the olive branch after that
You took it
smiled
and burned it personally...

~ Pandemonium ~
(not the harmonica played by native bears of China)

I propose once more coexistence

But with the caveat

That this is my home too
And with the time-honoured
Understanding
that
I was here first...

I want peace
but I'm prepared for war.

I think it's like hoping for the best while preparing, almost ready for the worst to come.
Might have been revenge on your mind when you wrote it..

"I offered you my hand in peace
And you cut it off
broiled it - fed it to that thing..."

There seems to me regrets here more than disappointment, as to why you offered your hand..

A fine write, Tony! Makes me reflect on myself..

Don't know the context; do know the tone.
When you are confronted with hostility, it is best to prepare for more of it. Of course, if you can simply walk away, the solution is far simpler.
Powerful piece, Tony.

Seems to me that this is like an ended relationship, where one tries to make peace with the other person. Excellent read..
