Our precious

The Moon is silver
The Sun is gold
Stars are diamonds
Yet the Earth's been sold...

Now this is something...These are my favorite kind of poems to read. Short, sounds like a verse in a song, and tells a story we can all relate to.

This made me think of an astronaut, un-tethered and free floating in space. He looks around at the vast spectacles of space in awe of its glistening ore, but then he looks down at the luscious Earth below his feet and see's a parasitic mob just gouging the hell out of it.

I enjoyed your poem! Thanks for sharing.

A vast amount of wisdom in 4 simple lines.

A comment on how much we value this universe yet how we neglect the one thing that should be of utmost importance to everyone.

The universe is a ring with various gems but the center stone is somehow missing...

The spareness works very well for this poem.

Good job yet again, Weird Moon!

thought provoking. man acts as if it will last forever amidst exploitation of its resources. once they are gone, they are gone. the earth is resilient but has its limits. a mouthful with not many words and well put. catchy title.

I don't think I can explain in words the simple complexity that I feel when I read this little treasure. With your permission I think I will write it on the chalk board in my kitchen for my children to read and study this week for English lit.It is very pertinent to the being of our wholeness at the moment.

It's really sad how much mankind has destroyed earth. The ending really leaves lots of room for thought.

That is a good point. You're welcome. :)
It's definitely thought provoking.
It tackles the difficult situation of people viewing natural parts of the earth as valuable in all the wrong ways. Something to be sold instead of protected. Short but well said.

Well done.

Hmmm...

This one is interesting in that it sounds like something a wise master would share with his students about the secret meaning of life...

... sharing with them 'wisdom keys'

Well done, you!
