Eleven eleven

Eleven eleven

A Poem by Tony Jordan
"

word mining doesn't always lead to word finding

"
I wish
 upon the stars
that I had the words
 I want
to write to you.
Words which you
deserve
And yet something
tells me - I have all the words
I'll ever need
for this Life.
They reside in me
but they scurry
away
into the dark
and hide when I
reach for them
because they too feel
unworthy
of you.

Theres so many words in all different languages but the language of Love never seems to reveal its vocabulary, how do you express the emotion that you feel inside? The emotion that isn't even an emotion itself, for you feel happiness, sadness, anger, frustration, complete joy and many others. Love is a mystery, so what is the solution? Taking the highest possible equivalence and hoping that they feel the same... on the other side of love. This is beautiful

I think this is super Tony. Full of love.
I wonder why we hide it sometimes.
I would bet that she (or he) would really appreciate your words more than any other gift you might give.
Very good poem.

This is just amazing. But those words couldn't stop from coming out for us through this write.
A nice piece of writing.
And I loved this line: word mining doesn't always lead to word finding.
Very well put.

Very very true, Tony.
We may have thousand splendid words stored in this intelligent mind but we do fall short of words when we are in front of that one special person.
Words seem nothing because feelings overpower them. Expression of love through caring attitude and behavior is much more important than spoken words. I guess it is eyes and heart that do the speaking then.

Beautiful writing :-)
Keep it up, Tony.

Thank you very much Kathie.

What a marvellous concept. That the words hide from you. I just love the whole idea of that.
They remind me of the wee meeses that live in my loft during the winter. They all wear wee kilts, string vests and wee bonnets. Together with Doc Martin's and they have regular wee celidhs and say Crivens! a lot.
However back to this. I can empathise totally. We do have words that we want to say but the reason for why we don't are manifold. To lovers, family, friends. It reaches the supreme apex when we sit keyboard or quill in hand and chew them over literally. I am really aware of the irony here where you write about not being able to find the words. Tremendous and quite moving stuff. Now if I can learn to stop chewing my keyboard. Its not smart and its not funny.

ha ha, "grandma problems"

oh can i relate...i have felt such strong emotions...towards lovers, friends...family...and when trying to put the pen to those emotions...
the words come out smeared with inappropriate strength to match those feelings...

smeared - exactly Jacob. Very well said my friend. Thank you.

I can relate to this. Sometimes "words fail" infront of the person you want to say them to.. You turn speechless..
This is the saddest piece I've read of you, Tony! But it's beautifully so..
On a funnier note, what's the connection of the poem and the title? The title reminded me of the novel "Eleven Minutes" iykwim 😂😂😂
I liked reading this btw ☺👍

Eleven eleven--a supposedly momentous number.
Your poem represents a powerful statement of the highest regard.
Somehow, Tony, you did find the words.
Impressive!
