"The pen might not be mightier than the sword, but maybe the printing press was heavier than the siege weapon. Just a few words can change everything" reminded me of this, even if a bit (Just a bit) out of context, reminds me of the hidden discrete power that these little yet big thingies can have

We all want that enlightenment methinks
Departing is rarely mutual, one always reaches the finishing line first, while the other ponders on the why.Its only when you let go, you see the cracks and the realization she wasn't for you. Also time settles the score on hurt and you find on a new beginning, its so fresh and alive and you look back and think if only I did this sooner. Nice poem of pain and sadness but hope too, that light at the end of the tunnel. The End,Doctor Andrew.:)

This was as fine a dissertation as any I have encountered and so spot on that if it had been an 'X' in spot the ball you would have won a few million quid - as it stands all I have to offer is my gratitude for a much appreciated review.
Thank you Andrew. :)
You have described the reason we write, the deeper underlying hopefulness that our words will mean something significant to someone, somehow, someplace. I can feel the joy spilling over in your words. I love the way you describe the epiphany, which is a great way to show instead of tell. What you say here is the reason I often comment (in reviews) on content more than the mechanics of a person's writing. Even if a writer's form is a little bumpy, the important part of writing is touching others.

I also review more on the way I have been touched by other's writing than by applying my (very) limited knowledge of the technicals and that's all I can do - writers can take it or leave it. It's up to them. We are on the same page.
Thank you for reviewing this - I appreciate your thoughts very much.
Sometimes the shackles we carry are ones we wrap around ourselves. We hold the key, and we're afraid to use it...afraid to live without the toxicity, because it's familiar. It's all we've known. It's comfortable, in its own twisted way. Breaking free of those shackles takes far more courage than anything we ever do...congrats on that...and congrats on this beautiful piece.

I only know about Flat Stanley, because a teacher in the school where I used to teach, assigned something that focused around Flat Stanley, and students had to create their own Flat Stanley, more or less. It's a sign of the times...I'm guessing if you were a Dennis the Menace fan, you're at least in your 40s. The millennial-generation isn't big into the TV shows from 'back in the day'.

Yeah Dennis was staple especially at Xmas when the Beano yearly annual came out. I would read it from end to end - day after day.

I have to admit, I've never heard of the Beano Yearly Annual. I think I led a deprived childhood. I've never heard of Dandy comic either...but I wasn't into comics as a kid. Wasn't into TV much, either. I was in 4th grade when we moved back to the states, and prior to that we didn't have a TV. We got one then...but I don't really remember watching it very often. My brother and I were more likely outdoors playing 3 Musketeers, or Combat, or some other rough and tumble game. :)

We seemed to always live near woods...and my brother and I spent a lot of time exploring...climbing trees...all the good kid's stuff. When we moved closer to family, there was my brother and my two cousins (both guys), so I got introduced to basketball and football...and there was an old deserted field of dirt near their house where we'd play war...build forts...lol...sounds stupid now, but seemed awfully fun then.
Funny how we can get a little clarity from a stranger, there was one such writer in my life too. I enjoyed this a lot.

The flow is so relaxed and the directness of this is a nice touch, it comes across like having a conversation with someone. I like the message expressed as well, sometimes the right words are all we need to pick ourselves back up. Thank you for sharing this.

I don't think that love is blind, not true love anyway...
Lust is definitely blind as one's horomones are raging that they DEMAND satisfaction.. I think there, for some, they will substitute 'love' when it's really lust...
.. which then makes, sense...'love is blind'
If you love someone.. really love someone, you see them for who they are, good , bad and ugly... you accept that person for who they are, and them you, if it's true love. Forgiveness and mutual respect are a huge part of true love, real love
Something that is in short supply today..
True love
Real Love
lasting love for a lifetime
I think it really boils down to commitment really... if you really look at it ...
Thanks for sharing...
