We are so strange

We are so strange

A Poem by Antonina Dutchak

We are so strange
False idols we're chasing
Amazingly strange.
Strangely amazing.

We want heaven on earth
Happiness, money
Surprisingly nice,
Amazingly cunning.

With hearts full of good,
With hearts full of hatred
Having chosen the route
We dream to leave it.

"Money's not everything"
Tell us the believers.
"You'll win if live with no sin"
They are the worst sinners.

People, slow down!
You ain't gods.
Take off your crowns.
Can't even control your lifes.

We are so strange
False idols we're chasing
Amazingly strange.
Strangely amazing.

I especially love a message that points out the irony & contrasts embedded in our humanity, which you've done here in original ways. I prefer using "we" which is inclusive, rather than being accusatory of some separate "others" . . . well done.

What an amazing piece to stumble onto. The repetition, the use of repeated form feels fresh and urgent. This is simple yet extremely clever:
Amazingly strange.
Strangely amazing.

Wow amazing piece! I love it, perfectly describes the humans' irrationality and sometimes struggle of choice between one's own good and greater good, as well as good/evil.
