Merry Go Round

the tittle is a metaphor

Round and round we go,
So fast yet so slow.

On this merry go round of life,
Until its cut short by the all knowing knife.

A knife that cuts deep down in your soul,
Also to mine,my soul as black as coal.

Eventually this ride will stop,
As fast as your heart can hop.

Never again to see the light of day,
So join me in turning away.

Turn your back on all you have cared for,
For they will be no more.

I have tried to write better than this many-a-time but I just can't get that perfect flow, rhyme, and meaning you expressed in this piece. I love the emotion- so many people can emanate emotion in their poems and I suck at poetry. Thank you for sharing this piece

Far from your best? I can deeply relate to the words involved. It has a solid sense of melancholy and yet a tint of anger? maybe disappointment? Regardless for me it was a course of truth that I think revolves in my heart. The last two stanzas...to me instead of turning my back on people I feel as though they have done that to me. >.> People I have come to care for and adore just seem to take what they want and leave without as much as a reason or explanation, but here I am rambling. ^^ Anyways I liked this.
