Such splendid use of words and it takes a little time to realise that there is a poem in between!
What a truly delightful read this is! And my totally agreement with you that money really cannot buy happiness.
Well done from me dear and a very pleasant weekend ahead 😊

That face, almost laughing, almost leering, almost real.. is perfect for your powm. Visually one sees the one entity standing there for all the world to see. Money however, lies in the safe, in shares, in the pocket or in the shape of the smallest coin that's worthless... instead to someone, so many someones who have zilch. Money and hope can be lost overnight.. humans think it means true contented destiny.. losing it is too many peoples' and countries; fate. Your words have stirred my attitude towards money and the pride in tailored suits and cosmetic surgery rather than sitting in a meadow or on the deck laughing over a cheap bottle of good wine and home made wotsits.

I tried my best and glad to, Tom, however I'm b etter at typos than poems, forgive please.
I wonder what aunt Sally would have to say say .. tis the wizzy wurzle root of all evil sir ............... Dr Who surely could have a afforded a better face lift 😎
It has taken me at least half an hour to realise there is a poem included, as I have been staring at wurzel, regressing into mini me mode and remembering pathetic playground attempts at doing his "mixupelated talkage" 😊
Even the beatles sang money can't buy you love, while John Lrnnon done his best to prove it by marrying a Picasso! (It's me that's going to hell for that one, you were only reading it)
Yet we strive to collect as much of this "paper" as we can, thinking it will make everything better and how's the rate of inflation treating you these days?
It's all made up, just numbers on a sheet, made to look really important by accountants and auditors hoping no one heard that massive balloon pop and looking very important in their freshly laundered suits, to mask the illusion they are all fluffy white clouds and not greedy angry clouds that would gladly watch us all drown over their afternoon pimms.
I like this, mainly because there should be more poems with the word moolah in them 😊

This certainly true...money does not buy happiness...and many of us squander it away and poof, it's gone....and then it's a different sort of life...sometimes harrowing, embarrassing, lonely and frightening....but it's a habit that repeats itself often.... many of us can do well with what we have because we are careful and do not "throw it away"..... lesson in life learned....
Well done!
Best, B

Indeed you speak in wise prophetic words my friend, thank you Betty! 🥂
The image makes me think of a straw man, which seems simpatico with the poem itself. The fallacy that money is so important misguides a lot of people in life. People spend a fortune buying material things, neglecting those things which mean the most - self, love, and family. Unfortunately, the lesson seems learned too late, often after a tremendous amount of heartache and pain. Worse, it's often discovered too late, at the end of days, when there's no time left for repair. The damage has been done. This is a well-penned poem. Thanks, Tom.

I think the message here is greed is evil. They say money won’t buy you happiness which is true but it does buy you some comfortable living standards compared to being homeless and unhappy. If used properly, money opens many doors of self improvement which in turn improves your chances of being happy and or finding love. A great topic to debate on Tom. Well done.

Many thanks for your welcome visit and considered review of my poem Andrew!
Nope money does not buy happiness....love of money is the root of all evil they say. Still, important to have a bit of it, isn't it? I enjoyed the wordplay here! Lydi**

Thoughtfully penned poet friend, yes indeed, you nailed it here, thank you Lydia! 🥂
Money, the root of all evil some say. It’s all about balance. Too much and it can ruin you, not enough and it can ruin you too. Enough to pay the bills and a few little extras suits me. Money can’t buy me love, I am reminded this morning of the Fab Four from Liverpool who sang on the subject. Such a descriptive write here Tom. So many shallow people about. Attracted by the lure of wealth who disappear sharpish when it’s gone. I don’t often listen to music posted with poems, but I did yours and have to say, I enjoyed it. Reminded me of my trips to Ireland. Very happy times I might add. Love is all you need, now there’s another Beatles song for you. Have a great day Tom and thanks for the gift of your poetry.

And thrilled to know you enjoyed you visits here in Ireland/Northern-Ireland! 🥦🍐☘🍀
