Pearlescent frog, sat small, silent, squat just what are you thinking, I know not? Still life art in diminutive, physical form as jet black eyes, observe, raging storm
Permit me close inspection, answer this are you perturbed or in trance like bliss? Semiaquatic creature, beguiling, minute, pray tell, share truth, fate of King Canute?
Bulbous orbs reveal a telepathic cortex images of man's demise, swirling vortex, amplified by ignorance, hapless, so blind inherent his relinquish of ties that bind
And so to avoid the predatory hornbilly
off hopped frog to muse upon waterlily, grieved, dishearten, like wasted tears prophetic knowledge, lost on deaf ears!
The eyes tell it all; bittersweet; he must sense predators and move about for safety; but I'm sure behind those bulging eyes is a brain, and who knows the smarts of it, but it's sad that this little creature must be on the lookout for predators..... as do humans... who know maybe they are wiser than us... Love your wordage and the photo.
Best, B

Many thanks for your visit and perceptive words on the poem new friend! 😉
A very beautiful descriptive poem which flows effortlessly in perfect rhythm and rhyme in this delightful and very charming poem. I love the term 'pearlescent frog' soooo lovely! Very finely narrated with a great sense of humour. Beautiful pictures created with your poetic brush for your reader to enjoy! And enjoy this amazing poem, I did! The little frog sitting on a tulip is absolutely delightful and complements your words superbly. I think we should learn a lesson from the frog and play deaf more often 😁 Beautiful nature gem, Tom. Thank you for sharing. Have missed your wondrous writes over the past couple of days... Wishing you a very nice evening, dear friend...
honest to goodness Tom, I could contemplate this & the delightful mage that crowns it, your poem that is .. all day long or until all the cows come home whichever comes least soonest .. AGT's Neville

or even to the chickens fly aloft to roost...Thanks Neville 🐔🐔🐔
Those silent moments holstered between action of creatures driven by instinct 🤔 make for great pondering. I like how your imagination works over this little scene of nature. A wonderful poem.
Maybe he, or she is y thinking of the one that got away, be it a possible partner or a tasty fly when he was looking for a snack.
Or maybe he, or she has discovered how easy he, or she has it, when they hear talk of they big, loud and annoying things called humans, with their excessive waste, and waists, moaning when they have nothing to moan about, and when they do, like mortgage repayments, health insurance and other frivolities that frogs don't seem to need...
Or maybe he's, or she's wondering what that big human is pointing and clicking at him, wishing he, or she was toxic so they could like the human and make him, or her go away, so he, or she can get back to enjoying their day 😊

Thank you for your fine and thoughful review my friend! 🐸
Tom, you really do have a special knack for rhyming! Those eyes can see right through a person! Are there ever wasted tears? I think sometimes they cleanse the soul! There must be prophetic knowledge inside that little green guy. Who says it is not easy being green? :) Loved this one. Lydi**
How long did it take you to find the logical words for the rhyme scheme in this poem! Am amazed. That said, it has both a delightful feel and interesting background. Learning newness is never a crime. Thanks lots, Tom.. Take care, keep smiling.
