If you can be like Mr Spock !

My tribute to the iconic Mr Spock

If you can look your Captain in the eye
even though his ship is going down
and reassure him with familiar frown,
" power restored Jim, now we fly! "

If you can stand against invading foe
without fear nor dismay,
through adversity and affray 
remain unfazed, wherever you may boldly go !

If you can laugh off cruel jibe
at how you look, feel no chagrin,
by logic reason, always win
the secrets of the universe, you shall imbibe !

I guess a few odes may have been written since his passing but this is the first I've read, and it's a very good one. Old geezer that I am, I watched Star Trek when it was a new series, and so have been a Spock fan for quite a long time. Thank you for writing this.

I must admit that I watched Star Trek The Next Generation more than the original Star Trek. Spock was awesome though. Leonard Nimoy is missed by so many, I'm sure.

I have always loved this character Tom. He is so fascinating, this Vulcan, long ears and all. I always wonder whether his super noble characters stem from his being half human or half Vulcan. But noble he is and so endearing to his die-hard fans. Thanks for this lovely poem on Spock.
