Inspired by Emma Joy's 6th Global Christmas collaboration ..
The achievements of man are many, industrious and sublime from electricity, television and computers, even spaceships fine but his efforts pale into insignificance, appearing dull and vague, when I gaze in awe at a tiny hatchling, emerging from an egg!
We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Man can only create, devil can manipulate, but God can make the impossible happen- that is what miracle is.Darwinism nor industrial mellenism can explain why an egg hatches and how a tiny life evolves from it.You have magnified this incident with your perceptive thoughts Tom.

This is an intriguing way to show how I often feel, since I stopped doing the materialistic holiday routine decades ago . . . now my life is decorated by the surrounding wilderness 365 days/yr! I dug back to find this one of yours . . . it feels like my own celebration, that I'm more into nature than humans! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
This is a great piece of poetic philosophy. It brings a sense of perspective to the technological achievements, which cannot match the wonder of the creation of life..

"so true", to echo Beccy. the miracle of creation is like no other. egg, embryo or a simple seed that pierces the ground and emerges in the form of a beautiful rose.
you expressed that in a simple but eloquent way.

He's a good guy, he won't gripe about it, but I won't leave this message here just in case.... ;)
So true. We can only ever strive to emulate the miracle of nature. Sometimes I wonder at the marvel of it all, how everything, each tiny, intricate detail works to perfectly. It makes me know beyond doubt that creation came not by co-incidence alone.
Beccy.

Yes indeed Beccy, you grasped my poem's message quite succinctly & thank you again for commenting!
Wow! What a brilliant comparison between man invention and nature. As wonderful and useful our inventions are, the beauty of nature remains the wonder of wonders. Nothing we invent can compare to the wonder of sunrise, spring time, the sky, the stars, the sun, etc. Love your piece, thanks for sharing.
Funny how you compared man's intelligent inventions and nature's unrivaled tricks. This is a way to humble down humans before God. Wisely written, Tom. :)
Nature vs. human invention. It is true, we have been able to achieve so much in terms of industrialization, inventions, etc., but there is nothing quite like the beauty and the utter mystery of nature and creation. Something deeper happens when something is born, grown, cultivated...metal vs. soil. Great thoughts here, my friend!
