A Poem by Tom
"

An acrostic challenge set by Great Aunt Astri, the word love being the header letters!

"
Linger not, or choose to ignore
One that needs a helping hand

Venerated will be and more

Every one who helps their brother from the sinking sand!

I tried writing acrostics but I never found them to be easy. :(

I agree with your sentiments here, Tom. I believe love is best shown by helping others in need. "venerated" is a really apt word and I admire you for having chosen that to describe someone who shows a noble deed of love, no matter how simple.

Looking forward to reading more poems of yours, Tom. I visit your profile every now and then but you haven't written new ones as of late. That's why I keep digging your old ones. ;) Have a great day ahead!

My pleasure!
A very meaningful acrostic, Tom. People who love lend their hands to those in need even when it is not always easy for them to do so. As usual, your heart shines brightly through your words.

Thank you Ees and yes indeed, great minds think alike !
The acrostic challenge was accepted, I see! This is a brilliant view of love's enduring promise to lend a hand, and done so rhythmically.

Thank you Eros !
Lovely... Great use of the form, which I have never found to be easy. The imagery is quite beautiful, especially because it is written in so few lines. The idea of "helping hands"...we all need them from time to time; those people who lift us up when we have fallen. Well done.
