Being full of one's own self importance and paying homage to Ego is a most selfish trait in any human being, dear Tom and you have captured that so poetically in this wonderful poem. Those with Ego care only for their own selfish selves, they have no regard, compassion or empathy for anybody who is not them. Humility is the way to go in life. It opens door which an egoistic person will never have a key to and those who need help, empathy, compassion along the road of life as we journey will receive it in multiple ways for a humble person. I love this poem, dear Tom! You have a very beautiful spirit within your body and a very human and equally beautiful heart too. Bless you always, dear friend...

Sunday evening too, my friend...
Well, I believe you have nailed it, Tom! Good for you!...
Narcissism is the most undesirable trait one could have... This is written with subtle humor, yet a firm
slap on the hand.
A wise poem! If a person is a Materialist, then that person's self worth can't be more than the few dollars worth of chemicals that it takes to assemble a human body, but if we're more than body then we're worth much more. It takes an Other to see us as more than a body, and this Other must have humanity and compassion to accomplish that. There can be no society without humanity and compassion, no money, no right to property, no children, and so forth.
Your writes have a nice twist of humor with answers to heal the woes of humanity in them and I like that! You offer us words of wisdom in this one to wear a hat that will fit a head not grown too large with egotism. Humility is a wonderful trait to better self so that one may better others! And, your rhyming is always "spot-on"!
