What others see, what I see, what you see

What matters is how we see life

You see my mother

I know a warrior

She never gives up

Always so strong

 

You see my father

I know a hero

He fights with honor

Wish I could mirror

 

You see my brother

I know a soldier

Searching for the truth

Hates how injustices rule

 

You see my grandmother

I know a queen

With kindness she reigns

And loves all the children

 

You see my grandfather

I know a king

Who protects his family

From any danger

 

You see a girl

I know I am a writer

What others see

Doesn't matter

 

As long as you believe

You will have magic

I really love this. It is something I think others can connect with and I love this idea you are looking at with this poem. The idea where you talk about how others view people and then how you view people. This poem really made me think about that in my own life.

I think I see a well-written piece of poetry that sends a great message: our perceptions of others are relative to our relationships with them. and what really matters is how we perceive life from our own points of view...then I wonder about a third perspective: how would the people you describe see themselves?...nicely-done... I would suggest removing 'it' from the last line of the sixth stanza :)
