Exams

A Poem by Tom Henman

My imagination, almost infinite, it’s measured in kilograms, and when I am fully emerged, I remember then: exams

Uncomfortable wetness: the sweat within my palms, it looks like reality’s hit: I have to do exams

I’d rather be in Philippines or maybe Vietnam but in my heart I know: I’d still do the exams

These test, they are so hard to escape, were like pearls trapped in a clams, but pearls, they have it easy: they don't have to do exams

Before I felt like an adult, now a baby in a pram, but I am in fact a teenager: who has to do exams

The atmosphere is thick, like the slaughtering of lambs, but enough of this free poetry: its time for the exams
