Lifted Out

Lifted Out

A Poem by Tommy Pritchard
"

This poem not only describes my battle with anxiety, but also my relationship with Christ.

"

I cried out from the pit and you heard me.
The hole which I had dug for myself had became my snare.
Struggled, I did, to escape, but to no avail.
The more I struggled, the deeper I would sink.
The walls, slippery with the lies I believed,
kept me confined in my darkness.
My anxious thoughts were the mire about my feet.
The darkness, clouding my vision, kept me from seeing the hope found in you.
But you heard me when I cried.
Your light burst forth and healed my broken soul.
You lifted me out of that pit of decay
and filled me with hope once again.
You restored my life and brought joy to my heart once again.

this is an excellent expression of praise, thanksgiving, and hope. This would encourage anyone to seek Him who gave you such a deliverance. I call this a 'poetic psalm."
