Crammed Confidence

Crammed Confidence

A Poem by Tomi
"

"Crammed onfidence"

"

I won’t stutter, not today

I’ll say every word; precise

I’ll face the crowd, so I pray

Say everything like I revised

After the speech, after the show

I want a “well done” & “nice Speech”

I really just want to know

How shy, how confident?

Yet my fright wins

Though I prepared in due diligence

I’m still nervous at most things

The façade is all but crammed confidence

One day, I’ll talk to an audience

They’ll listen, learn and laugh

I’ll be myself but bold and sound

Not depending on crammed confidence

Author's Note

Tomi
When i was still struggling with being shy(I still am sometimes) I used to cram how to speak and what to say..it usually felt to rehearsed and phony. While i still am compelled to do such sometimes, I am much better at speaking to people than i was.

Whao, nice one and great piece, yeah, I'm confidently shy(see the difference there (:)
And I'm still struggling with shyness also, but yeah, nice work you've got here (:

and a good point described well - one has simply to do it often enough ..Like this.

Hard to gain confident with talking in public. I have been doing it for almost 40 years. I still need to prepare. I like the description in the poem. With time confident will come. Thank you for the excellent poem.
