Blood everywhere, blood everywhere Hope? peace? please, is there love anywhere? Blood everywhere, blood everywhere They pray, they ask is there joy anywhere
Ashes, ashes, dust, ashes death everywhere, they bury their dead dust, dust, another one bites the dust Mother, daughter, murdered, slaughtered
The departed, faithful and unfaithful Bereft of life, never to love, never to know bereft of love, bereft of Joy they rest in peace, burried in pieces
Ring a Ring O' Roses, they sang Streets full of corpses, they sing Ashes, ashes, gun shots and bomb blasts They all fall down, they all fall down
I love how you incorporated a child's rhyme (which was apparently originally about the Bubonic Plague) it gives it a beautiful innocence which is juxtaposed with the harsh reality of what it is really about.
This is very intense. I am truly sorry that you have to deal with this in Nigeria. Human beings make me sick to my stomach, and I believe in this poem, you displayed that very ugliness here. My favorite line would be "they rest in peace, burried in pieces". As soon as I read this line, It caught my attention immediately. Great write, Tomi, keep your head up brother.
A very sad poem. So much useless killing everywhere. Hard to understand why people can kill people without thoughts. I pray for sanity in our world. The good people must stand up and be counted for before it is too late. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

I love the realist view you have here, how relentless the world can get, how the pain manages to claw through to such extent that even the departed souls find no peace. Your style of writing kept me hooked on till the end, with an easy flow and intense meaning. Keep writing.
I love this piece, they is so much pain in it, the result of a war only profit the politician and the capitalist at the cost of poor citizen who gave them that power... a power piece inspiring.
