Survival 1 - ArcticA Poem by Tom BensonNature finds a way - even in the coldest environment.
Polar Bear, the carnivore, our largest on the land. As he grows he must explore, no food is close to hand.
Climb from den at eight weeks, on a snowy slope. The Eiderduck at him peeks, and wonders if he'll cope.
Some miles away a Musk Ox herd, eats and guards the young. Adults beak ice meeting needs, a meal of green is sprung.
Ptarmigan and Arctic Hare, are wary, cloaked in white. Arctic Wolf and Fox are there a quick meal keeps them right.
In every case they are dressed, in fur or thick with feathers. It helps them cause it is best, protection for cold weathers.
Out at sea along the coast, Killer Whales attack. Seals, the meal they like most, they'll use them as a snack.
Each species journey onward, to breed they all will strive.. Some kill as they go forward, all hoping to survive
A world of frozen ice and snow, where man is rarely found. Somewhere humans never go, unless they know the ground.
