Rise TarnishedA Poem by TomboyVisionaryits you vs youI am Tarnished with no known renown and defeat is all I have ever witnessed I have tasted loss but never sought death A broken man with a tortured soul And yet I sole heartedly demand, O death where is your sting? I pity you than wrath, my head held high as I walk through this holy path I give you nothing after all I have gifted, my wrath, my sorrow, my suffering You would have to unshackle me from my very being for you to arise victorious Yet I still see you, i hear you, your spite and your cries Am I to forgive you, to punish you? Perhaps, all I have ever done is to demean you, would mean to scar myself Is this a taste of freedom? since I saw the fathers eyes He told me who I was No taste of freedom, no smell of joy and no touch of victory but rather peace Now I ask you again do I forgive you? Shall i welcome you back into the gates of my mind as you are With redeemed honor, bold and brave The sound of your sorrow in each breath Your tears of darkened tales never told The very teeth you grit when you have lost You are tarnished much like I am By no means will you win me over But I offer you my hand to bear no malice over you Here I tell you now "Rise Tarnished" © 2024 TomboyVisionary |
